The word “photography” originates from the Greek words “photos” (light) and “graphos” (writing), so it can be said that a photographer is literally “writing with light”. Liz is passionate about photography – it is so much more than just “taking a picture”. It is having “the eye” to spot a great photograph, seeing the light to add drama and mood to an image, knowing the best angle to capture a certain look. A beautiful image can convey real feeling and passion. Famous photographer Henri Cartier Bresson once quoted “Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again.” Every time Liz takes a photograph, she feels that she is freezing a moment in time, creating a visual record – a memory to cherish – a link to the past. As soon as a photograph is taken, it is in the past!
